The Internet is your friend when it comes to discounts, coupons and promo codes. One of the team here at the FiftyUp Club regularly Googles a particular brand along with discounts and free delivery when purchasing things online. From sheets, towels, clothes, shoes and accessories discounts are available all over the Internet. If you see something for full price in a shop, check online to see if you can find it cheaper. Sign up to your favourite retailers’ emails and keep your eye out for any specials and discounts in their newsletters.

Groceries

The price war between Coles and Woolworths has gone online with both supermarket companies offering in-store specials online, according to a recent report by Channel 9 news. Both chains now provide free home-delivery. With Coles, you’ll get free delivery on Wednesdays when you spend $100 or more and Woolworths provides weekend free delivery as well as free delivery promotions for new customers.

I am a grandmother of 71 and I have recently discovered on line shopping. It is awesome when you do not grow up with this concept. I only pay with Pay Pal I find that the easiest and the safest. Also they are very helpful

I have a separate debit card for internet purchases and only transfer the amount into it when I purchase an item.

I have a good deal of sympathy for local ( in a big country town) retailers feeling the pinch. So when I arrive at a good deal on the internet I print the page showing the with-delivery total and tote it to the local appropriate store. . "Get within coo-ee of this price and I'll buy it here " often produces a 'pick it up on the spot, look at it first feel the quality, ' result which suits me and helps a local trader stay solvent . Makes me feel good too.

I find it helps when I'm looking for a particular item, if I just type in the item, then add "best price" after it (without the commas). You usually end up at a site where they've done the searching for you and then you just click on the cheapest store. Be aware of freight costs though Regards, Thommo.
